Elizabeth, 56, presented to one of our chiropractors with a 4-week history of a very painful shoulder. Elizabeth has never had shoulder pain before and thought she had just twinged it, and that it would get better on its own. But 4-weeks later and she was still in pain.
Elizabeth had also noticed that her shoulder aside from being painful had started to becoming increasingly stiff over the last 4-weeks. On greeting the chiropractor Elizabeth could not lift her arm to shake the chiropractor’s hand. The chiropractic consultation took around 45 minutes. Due to Elizabeths presentation of 4-week history of intense shoulder pain and limited shoulder movements confirmed via a physical exam. The chiropractor concluded that she was suffering from adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder).
