Hi, I’m Beth! I’m a Sports Therapist based at Lushington Chiropractic in Eastbourne. I’ve lived in Eastbourne pretty much my whole life, apart from a few years away at university – but I’m so glad to be back. This town has always felt like home, and I love working with people in my local community to help them feel their best.
What I Do – Helping You Move Better, Feel Better
If you’re dealing with pain, stiffness, or a niggling injury that just won’t go away, I’m here to help. Whether you’re active and sporty or just want to move more freely in your daily life, my job is to get you feeling stronger, more comfortable, and back to doing what you enjoy.
You might be wondering if Sports Therapy is right for you. Here are a few common reasons people come to see me:
- You’ve got recurring pain that keeps coming back
- You feel tight or restricted in certain areas
- You’ve recently had an injury and want help recovering
- You’re fed up with discomfort getting in the way of your daily routine or exercise
- You want to prevent injuries in the future and look after your body long-term
Sound familiar? I’ve helped people with everything from minor aches to more complex rehab cases, and my approach is always tailored to you.
Sports Therapy and Massage – A Winning Combo
Sports Therapy isn’t just for athletes – it’s for anyone who wants to move better and feel more in control of their body. My sessions often include a mix of hands-on massage, stretching, and exercise-based rehab to treat the root cause of your problem.
By working on both muscle tension and strength, we can reduce the strain on your joints and improve the way your body functions overall. That means less pain, fewer flare-ups, and more confidence in your movement.
Massage plays a big part too – not only does it help relieve tension and improve circulation, but it also gives you a chance to reset, relax, and check in with how your body’s feeling.
Together, Sports Therapy and massage can help with:
- Injury recovery
- Pain relief
- Better mobility and flexibility
- Reduced stress and tension
- Injury prevention
- Improved performance (both physically and mentally)
No matter your starting point, I’ll meet you where you are and build a plan that works for your lifestyle and goals.
What to Expect in a Session
When you come in for your appointment at the Eastbourne clinic, it’ll start with a friendly chat. I’ll ask about what’s been going on, what you’re struggling with, and how it’s affecting your everyday life. This helps me get a clear picture of what’s going on beneath the surface.
Next, I’ll do a few simple movement or strength tests to assess the affected area. These are completely tailored to your needs and help me understand what’s contributing to your symptoms.
The main part of the session is the treatment itself. This might include deep tissue massage, soft tissue work, assisted stretching, and joint mobilisation – all depending on what your body needs. I always check in with you throughout, so you feel comfortable and supported the whole time.
At the end, we’ll talk through everything – what I found, what we worked on, and what the next steps are. I’ll also give you some simple exercises or stretches to do at home to keep the progress going between sessions.
A Bit About My Background
Sport has always been a big part of my life. Growing up, I was constantly involved in different activities, and over time, I saw how injuries could really impact people – not just physically, but emotionally too. That’s what inspired me to get into Sports Therapy.
I studied at the University of Chichester, where I originally started with a Bachelor’s degree before upgrading to a Master’s. One of the highlights of my studies was getting to work with a professional women’s football team for a full season – it gave me hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Since then, I’ve worked with a wide range of people and injuries – from everyday back pain to sports-specific rehab. These days, you’ll find me in Eastbourne on Fridays at Lushington Chiropractic, and I also work with several rugby teams throughout the week.
Every person I work with is different, and that’s what keeps my job so interesting. Whether you’re dealing with an old injury, just want to feel looser and more mobile, or are aiming for peak performance, I’m here to help you move and feel better – one step at a time.
