Sandra’s Knee Osteoarthritis Case Study
Sandra is a 67-year-old female with a long history of right knee pain. She struggled with a right knee injury in her 20s and over the last five years has started to notice the knee is becoming increasingly stiff in the mornings. It is also painful and slightly swollen after lots of activity. Sandra has noticed she has had to reduce the amount of walking she does due to the pain in her knee.
Sandra spoke to her GP who sent her for a knee x-ray. The x-ray results came back as moderate osteoarthritis of the right knee. Sandra was given the option of an onward referral but wanted to try and manage her symptoms at home for the time being.
